Red Roof Shack No. 13
Anyone who has walked at the bird reserve in Rye Harbour will know this iconic little shack! It’s been photographed countless times and, rumour has it, it even has its own Facebook page!
This is our homage to one of our favourite quirky little places! Each one is unique and carries its own number.
The handcrafted shack is made from reclaimed wood. It is then set on a hand painted background made from a Victorian floorboard. The scene is finished with driftwood, pebbles and fishing tackle we’ve collected from local beaches. Each one also carries a tiny piece of sea glass on the door.
There are reclaimed nails that are fashioned into hooks for hanging keys, lanyards, dog leads or even long necklaces! We’ve also added brass coloured mirror plates for hanging.
